Maybe your wallet is not set to mBTC but to BTC and you are trying to spend more than you have? Or maybe you try to spend more than you have after paying the transaction fee.

You can check your fee settings in the menu and see if it is enough and that you have enough left.

i think you have to check the setting in you electrum wallet because i am also using the electrum wallet and i am able to send and receive mbtc from coinbase and other address without problem,

check the addres you are sending and the mbtc plus the transaction charges. you will get where is the problem.

Then you are probably doing it wrong , post this thing that you believe it's your receiving code (address) , also maybe you are trying to send more bitcoin then you are supposed to be (then you own) , when you are on the send tab , instead of writing the amount you want to send , click ! that should fill the textbox with all BTC that you own on your wallet , then modify how even you want (as I said , it's just to verify if you are saying the correct amount) .

i dont think its that im trying to send more than i have. if the amount is equal to what i have in that wallet then the amount numbers turn red because of the fee. i will try with a lower amount and see what happens. could it have something to do with typing in the wrong password previously?

Hey guys thanks for the help. i was able to get past the problem. i believe it may have been that i was using my "Default wallet"
i recovered my wallet with my seed and it created my "wallet#1" then from that wallet i was able to send to my coinbase acnt just fine. Thank you
