Hi everyone. Is it worth me starting to mine litecoin with just one blizzard miner? My hash rate will be around 1.3-1.4 mh/s will this be profitable? I'm set up using a tiny laptop so power draw from that isn't to much and I think the power usage of the blizzard is around 40w. Or should I carry on mining goldcoin and hope the prices rise? With this hash rate roughly how long would it take to mine a litecoin in a pool? Atm I'm getting around 15/25 coins a day some days as much as 30. Not to sure how this happens I think it may be the amount of people mining on the pool decreases my rewards.

If I remember the power draw on the Blizzard correctly, you will need VERY CHEAP power to break even on one.

Double-check the block reward part, I don't think they have updated for the halfing last summer yet.

I'm guessing you're talking about getting multiple Goldcoins/day, as your hashrate on Litecoin would be good for only .01 or a bit more of a Litecoin/day ( I pull appx. 4/day right now running a group of A2s at ballpark 450MH/s total).

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

I think you should keep mining Goldcoin. The price is going to rise, that's for sure. But don't hope that it rises, help us make Goldcoin strong!

Where would I find one of these Blizzard miners and how much do they cost.  I am interested in learning more about mining, but it is hard when You do not know where to start. Everyone has an opinion and it is hard to determine which opinion is the correct one to go with.

Yeah, I agree. I started in 2014 as a total noob and had to read and learn for weeks.

Zeus Blizzards are nice toys to start mining without spending too much. There should only be used devices on the market, check eBay or local Classifieds or the BTC market section
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0
They were mostly sold as used devices for around $30-50, sometimes with and sometimes without a PSU.

But don't forget that these devices consume power and produce heat and noise. Placing them in a separate room or your garage would be better, especially if you're planning to buy more.

If you are interested in mining for profit, I would think about it twice. Due to power prices and coin rates, you will hardly make any profit, unless you have free power. If you just want to learn and try for fun, Blizzards are a good choice.

Litecoin is no good choice for such a small hasrate miner. I would recommend mining some coins with lower difficulty and liquid markets, sell them and buy whatever coin you like.

https://www.scryptpool.com is a good place to start, lot of easy to mine coins.
