What is staking in altcoin? I googled it but i did not understand it completely.

is it like mining for bitcoin ? and what i will get by holding the altcoin in the wallet ? is there a reward for it ?

Its means you have to mint coins by stake using your existing balance in your wallet.

It's different from mining bitcoin that uses Proof of Work  (POW) system. There is definitely a reward for holding or staking your coins, the amount of coins in your wallet will surely increase.
