PSU: http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=321&area=en
GPUs (6): https://www.pny.com/GeForce-GTX-1070-XLR8-Gaming-OC

Unfortunately, I purchased this GPU due to stock limitations and was not very precise with my research on it, so I'm wondering if it can still be used or if I should return it. It delivers 1200W - which should be fine in this case because 6x150W GPUs and ~130W extras. The problem is simply with the available connectors.

First, the GPUs are rated as 150W TDP, however they require 8-pin connectors and I was not expecting that since a 6-pin would've provided 75W plus the 75W from the slot. I have 6 risers that accept 6-pin connections.

Aside from the motherboard and CPU connections, the PSU has 4x8-pin connectors and 4xIDE/SATA connectors. If the GPUs accepted a 6-pin connector as I expected, I would've use the 4xIDE/SATA connectors to Molex and convert to 6-pin for the remaining 2 GPUs.

My main question is, considering the GPU is rated at 150W TDP and I haven't found examples of it requiring more than 150W, is it safe to split each 8-pin connector to an 8-pin and 6-pin to use for each GPU and riser? Secondarily, I've found it hard to find PSUs in this wattage range that have 6x8-pin connectors and something to spare for the 6x6-pin connectors; are there any recommendations there? I'm leaning towards returning the PSU.

EDIT: I was only considering the connectors on the PSU, not the connectors on the wires from the PSU. It has 4 cables that each have 1x8-pin and 1x6-pin. Assuming I can use both of those at the same time, that means I can cover 4 GPUs with that. Additionally, 2 more cables have 3 Molex connectors. I believe the PCIe cables can cover all 6 GPUs (combine 4 of the 8x6-pin into 2x8pins) and 4 risers (other 4x6-pins can be extended), with the remaining 2 Molex cables to the last 2 risers. Sounds alright?
