Hey everyone,

I was wondering if there is artistic movements involved in bitcoin. I saw something a while back related to Hollywood, but it was nothing concrete.

Since there is a revolutionary potential in all this stuff, artists must already be aware of the great social transformations that are bound to happen in the near future. I though maybe their work could reflect it somehow.

This song from Björk could well be Satoshi's inspiration:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P5xSntVWQE

Start your own currency!
Make your own stamp
Protect your language

Declare independence
Don't let them do that to you
Declare independence
Don't let them do that to you

[x4] Make your own flag!

[x6] Raise your flag!

It was released in 2008.

That's the kind of stuff I'm asking about!

there are many songs like 100 of them that are about bitcoin.

here is a conference about some people talking about bitcoin innovation in the music and entertainment industry

The revolution is over, the capitalists have hijacked the revolution with their greed and bags of money. You looking for stuff like this, http://dubwreckerz.com/blog/2014/02/08/max-keiser-bitcoin-revolution-dubstep/ We should shake the stigma attached to the revolutionary vision of the Libertarians and the Anarchists associated with Bitcoin.

We should now focus on educating the people on the bigger problem. Bitcoin or Blockchain technology being used for financial gain by banks and developers.

Uow, that's nice!

I was expecting something more revolutionary from the artistic community though! Given the revolutionary aspect of it. Not some consumerish flow of goods...

Since you've mentioned Death Grips, wouldn't they be involved in artistic expressions of this kind?  Huh

Death Grips no longer exists, your information seems to be outdated.

Art and Bitcoin never exactly had a good relationship if I am being honest with myself.

There is one bit of Bitcoin art I'd love to have bought which is a portrait of Dorian Nakamoto made out of cut up credit cards. It's super cool - https://bitify.com/bitify-hosts-dorian-nakamoto-fundraiser-196729/

Right now the majority of the art is in the programming taking place. I think it's going to take a while for alternative creative types to cotton on to the possibilities.

This is another interesting initiative - http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/sep/06/imogen-heap-saviour-of-music-industry
