Maybe it is because Bitcoin is still sorta hard to get in some places, or the fact that if you okay first and get scammed, you can't get your money back.

Well the guy has just agreed to buy the name for $2000, and I offered to sell it for 5 Bitcoin. It's going through escrow, so there isn't a privacy issue.

Once again - this isn't about domain name registrations, but about the sale of already registered domain names.

You got hard on me there, i never bought a registered domain so i have no idea, hence what i said before gets kinda nullified, sorry.

Probably they have the idea that the price is so unstable that they might get less in 5-minute time. They don't know that it's quite stable lately so they'll get what they're asking for even after a day.
