A user offered me a cheap account. I acutally do not need it and denied the offer but I'm wondering if this account is temporarily banned - as he stated - or long-term. I need to know that because I wanto to evaluate if I can trust the claims of this user in the future or not.

The message he sent me for its account is

The account has a temporary ban of 10 days. It says the time in the ban message, if it didn't, it would have been a permanent ban. However, be aware that once that account has had a ban, any further bans will be longer or a permaban.

The message seems what would usually appear, but considering one can just fake the message as the format is generally know and that members have been perma-banned due to my reports in meta, not temp-banned, I'm gonna say its highly likely a perma-banned account.

Anyway, don't deal with banned accounts as bitcointalk relies on a 2-3 strikes system, first "warning" is 3-10 days, second 60 days and third a perma-ban. Doesn't matter if you bought it , hacked it or anything, admins don't give a damn. If you're gonna avoid all of the warning , at least use an escrow to check the validity of the OP's claims
