so i currently have the option to choose from the best GPU currently on the market to make my computer breathe fire.. what is better for mining overall? the titan is almost 2x the fury's cost, but AMD is known to make better minerz.. hard questions, hard life.. also, whats the meaning of life?

not anymore (and not to mention that neither amd nor nvidia are making miners)
The titan Z (which is an old card) is a loss of money... mostly 2 780ti for the price of 4~5...

sorry i'll be more specific GPU MINERS

but ok thanks, i was on the verge of blowing way too much money on that thing if its actually old..
so best bet is the 780ti for mining purposes? i know relative to asics, these hash out jokes rather than coins but i figure i might as well try to mine some of the money back with such expensive gear..
thanks Smiley

rather the 980 or 980ti, they outperform the 780ti (with the exception of lyra2) which is also an older card

better than fury-x cards?
for the moment, I haven't seen any development for the fury-x, will probably depend on the algo and effort put in it by devs (open-source or not etc...  Grin)

What I have seen is insane hashrates and super cool temps on the fury x, but I wouldn't let mining sway my decision on such a high end card.
actually the decision is difficult to take (at least for me):
* fury X price, hbm is interesting but I doubt there is any specific support in opencl (that's what happen when there is no proprietary language and outsourced component).
+ crappy driver + bloatware and too intrusive catalyst (I hate that crap)

* 980ti price way too high and now old gen memory (so no surprise to be expected)
so better waiting for a decrease in price

* next gen nvidia +hbm (or equivalent tech... since it seems that amd is doing everything to keep the competitor away from this tech) => but when ?

One's decision over GPU brands should be heavily pondered with one's access to optimal mining tools for each platform.
Not every miner (software) is the same!

Also, why on earth picking a Titan Z, when there's already a Titan X?

I would go for the Fury, but I just prefer AMD in general.

Sorry to revive an ancient thread here.... My Fury X hashing neoscrypt stable between 650-750 KH/s with the lastest updated drivers. It does what 3 R9 380 stock do. It peaks around 950 kh/s
the HBM is very interesting- it has a low memory clock but because of the bandwidth it's able to outperform any other card.

I've been looking at the new cards about to drop, and I may just wait for the vega 10 as the polaris cards by amd (due out next weekish) do not carry HBM

I am stable at 1190mhz core and 590 memory clock (1200 or 600 are the fail points with the current catalyst drivers)
Note: I have only tested on Neoscrypt NSGMiner

With the release of the polaris cards the fury are allegedly going to slide into the 400-500 range, which will make them out perform most cards

Additionally- My highest power usage on the fury x is about 200w and the fan is running at 70% with a constant temp of 40C
