https://bitcoinfees.21.co/#delay says the fee you used was 10x too low. If you want to avoid problems use a fee of .0005 routinely.

I wouldnt suggest any fixed fee. The transaction may also be unusually large (in byte) for Erkallys which might be why they didnt have this problem before. You either have a wallet that can make a good suggestion or you have to rely on 3rd party estimates from e.g. 21.co.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

I use Electrum, and that's what it automatically put as fee for me. Each time it put me this, each time it worked well, so I did not changed anything.

The default fee for Electrum is 0.5 mBTC/kB.  The fee you included in your transaction is 1/10th that.  I suspect you may have changed it at some point.

This time I did nothing. Some long time ago I chose it manually, and I chose that. It seems that Electrum remembered my choice. What is more intriguing is that I recently performed a factory reset on my computer and just imported my seed into Electrum without touching to anything.

It's a bit hard to estimate the size of one's transaction and thus the adviced fee :/

Sometimes it take around 24 hrs to get the transcation complete.
It can be due to network congestion.
You just wait for 24 to 36 hrs and your transaction will be completed.
I just had this happen to me using Mycelium.  I was ultra cheap with the miners' fee and it took well over 20 hours for the transaction to finally get confirmed.  Oy.  OP I don't know why yours isn't confirming.  Could it be the same deal, not enough of a fee?

I found that transaction time was very random these days. The day before yesterday I made two reasonable-sized payments, which were only processed after 2 hours, but yesterday I made a smaller one and it was processed almost immediately (less than half an hour).

None of my payments ever took more than these 2 hours to get confirmation though. Besides I also set Electrum to pay minimum fees.

Nothing over the usual here, I usually pay a little over the minimum fees and it takes about half an hour before 3 confirms.

We really need the lightning network though. I hope it comes soon.

I have a transacation which is pending since I sent it, at around 11:30 CET (UTC+1). Is this slowness related to the high current price, which make people transact more, or are we under another stress test ?

I see no problem there. with the current load of transaction it is more than normal that a transaction takes roughly about 3 hours to be confirmed.

Is that acceptable in these days of virtually instant communications, and some fiat transfers taking seconds to complete.

i have had this problem recently too. it is just the bitcoin network, the blocks are almost full (>900KB) and with 2000-3000 transactions in each block.
besides, worst of all is that blocks aren't being mined every 10 minutes, right now there has been two blocks mined in the last hour (399661 and 399660)
399661   11 minutes
399660   35 minutes
399659   1 hour 2 minutes

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

So should the difficulty be adjusted more frequently? What happens if a major mining organisation has a power outage, or a fire? Maybe it gets closed down by the government.

Its confirmed.

The default fee for Electrum is 0.5 mBTC/kB.  The fee you included in your transaction is 1/10th that.  I suspect you may have changed it at some point.
