At my local hardware surplus place a bunch of gen 1 Avalon boards showed up.

Among them was a board that had none of the Avalon silk screening.

There were also a couple of  interesting mod-wires.

Due to lazyness I haven't dug up my batch 1 museum pieces to see if it looked like these.

(if anyone wants some dusty mining boards for $20/ea)

The wires are for overclocking. Many people did really serious mods on those things back in the days, every GH/s was worth a fortune!

Interestingly though, I got my avalon batch1 to about 82GH/s with just firmware twiddling. I wonder what people were getting with the voltage mods?

I didn't try because it was too valuable to risk frying.

What kind of electronics store? All I see at mine are the occasional used avalon 6 and a few backpanes for old miners. The struggles, man.. Only good thing is I live 5 miles from them and they sell real cheap Cheesy

man ... the good ole days, when ASIC prices were decent... LOL!
I loved my avy1 - b2 ... most profitable ever, regret not buying more. Such a solid machine, and a tank too. I was actually kinda sad when I sold it ... never felt that way bout any other miner since.

Now all asic mining is, is the combination of a bunch of the cheapest possible components on the verge of catching on fire and far too overpriced.
