Which is what Capitalists would probably dream of.

...and socialists as well Smiley. They also like ant-people who are not asking too many questions just keep doing their "duty". Japs are a very different culture. Trying to apply western schemes to them is misleading.

Very hard working people, loyal and with amazing culture. I'm not saying that all things are good in Japan but in some way they could be a role model. Maybe just in a bit more relaxed form.

If you relax Japanese society you get... A European society :/

Well, Europe is way, way more relaxed. I mean a tiny bit. Just to avoid this huge pressure that they have and that causes so much suicides.

Well it could be said that a lot of Japanese people are rejecting the pressure now. Unfortunately they're doing it in even more bizarre ways such as the hikokomori.

Don't want to go on the capitalist socialist debate here. Other threads for that.

It's not misleading to apply Western schemes mainly because Japanese have been totally influenced by American culture after their invasion!
And Japanese culture has only problems...
High suicide rates, low fertility, absolutely no relationships between the two sexes, over elited society...

Nothing works in Japan. They're only a few decades from exploding :/

Can't really blame them...

Imagine if you lived in a society where your whole future is decided when you're 8 years old :/

Imagine a society where you know you can't get married if you don't earn enough money... Enough being as much as the 20% top population :/

A Japanese form of ritual suicide, the term "seppuku". It is also known as harakiri.
Yes they are honest people, who respect human dignity more than everything else!

You never went to Japon obviously...

You know what's in anime isn't true? And that last seppuku was in 1868 dude...
It's like talking about the musketeers saying French people always fight for the good side xD

"The last celebrated case of seppuku was in 1970, when Yukio Mishima, a famous writer known for his psychologically violent novels, killed himself in samurai style after he failed to take over a command post to protest Japan's military policies."

I don't believe they are worst of US anyway. That are fascinated with technology and
life changing for them but their culture is still strong.

@mainpmf
They never had shortages on volunteers. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamikaze#Recruitment) Actually they usually had minimum twice as many applicants than planes. Different mindset as I said. In eastern societies the given society is more important than an individual.

What to say for this?
Their culture is so different from the rest of world so we cannot understand them.
But still you can't say they are not brave and honest. Can you call them crazy?
No their moral is on higher scale!

I happen to click-on and read this thread as No Place For Disgrace is playing...lmfao

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBE3mXKKw40

Quote
It's finally happened. After years, if not decades, of warnings about Japan's aging population and its low birth rate, the day is here. Japan's official census shows that the country's population has shrunk.

And not by an inconsiderable amount either: The 2010 census showed a population of 128,057,352, but the 2015 figure, released Friday, shows just 127,110,000.

Japan's population had shrunk by almost 1 million people in five years.

While data on birth and death rates has long given clear evidence that Japan's population was on the decline, this is the first time since records began that the census has confirmed the nation's population has actually dropped (the blip between 1940 and 1950 in the chart is largely due to the fact that many Japanese soldiers were stationed abroad and Okinawa island, then controlled by the United States, was not included in the census)...

...Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has said that keeping the population of Japan above 100 million is a priority. However, actually doing that may be difficult. Last year, the Population Division of the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs released a population estimate for Japan that showed the country would dip below 100 million shortly after the middle of the 21st century. By the end of the century, Japan stood to lose 34 percent of its population, the United Nations found.

Didn't know someone managed to do a real seppuku after it was forbiden in 1868, thanks for the data!

This is some sort of motivation for a starting age, a child but somehow is there a question that somehow ask this child if he really like what he is doing. They dont have free will to do things they want. They are obliged to do so or as follows. This will encourage discipline in every sides which also shows the picture of falling in line..

Exactly. The whole social pressure on your every move might explain the high suicide rate of Japan btw :/

I've lived in Japan for some time.

No doubt it's a difference culture. But also no doubt it's a decreasing culture, currently dying and that can't be saved.
