Britain’s first virtual reality store accepts Bitcoin

As supporters of the Bitcoin economy, we always like to hear about new online and physical retailers accepting the currency as a form of payment.

As such you might like to hear we're launching Britain’s first virtual reality hardware, software and content specialist store in the heart of London’s tech hub. The store is designed to educate the public about VR and to make best in class hardware and software available for demo, purchase and experience. Bitcoin will be accepted both in store and online at www.virtuallyreality.co

Our concept intends to remove the clutter and noise of traditional retail environments, focusing the conversation on the products by displaying them in an elegant format to draw attention towards design and specs.

We're launching with a pop-up store located inside London’s Old Street Underground Station between April 4th and 10th. If you're London based or if you happen to be in London on that week, you're more than welcome to come see us, particularly on the evening of April 5th when we're hosting our launch event.

Nice idea, VR tech still seems to be in that "break through" stage so lots of potential for new products in the future. Your web store looks a bit sparse and plain, which gives a slightly uneasy feeling if you're going to spend hundreds of pounds on items.

Thanks for your feedback Fortify. We've been working on building early Partnerships with those hardware manufacturers we see having a prominent presence as soon as the VR industry is in full swing.

Could you please elaborate when you say 'the web store looks a bit sparse and plain'? Do you mean there aren't that many products featured?

We've recently launched it so we value understanding what the public perception is like.

Please however note we will actually have a physical presence, in other words an actual store which we're launching next week in London via a pop-up model. All products on the web store will be available in store too. As you pointed out, the investment for this hardware is substantial which is why we believe a physical store will offer clients the opportunity to 'try before buying'.

vr is the next big thing, good to have bitcoin possibilities at the beginning.

this is great news... would be good if Crypto would be part of VR industry from the beginning. New people will be introduced to it.

Well I guess it just comes down to personal preference but there are no containers or boxes focusing the eye towards the products and inner body content on the website. So the few items in each category get overwhelmed by the sea of white surrounding them - only a problem on desktops? Bigger product images might help too.

It's great that you're getting this enterprise going, you would need storage space at a minimum but a shop in London must entail massive overheads which can drain an internet startup unnecessarily. Good luck with it
