I know that BFL has not done much at all in terms of progress but I thought it would be interesting to know what Kano found out while on his trip, besides the fact there was a lot of snow.

Kano you got a PUBLIC update for everyone on your trip to BFL?

And just to reiterate...I have got my refund from BFL Liars after 2 weeks and no response to emails but actually give forth the refund...

Why did it take so long for you to receive a refund? [2 Weeks?]

They probably just skim the subject line in the emails they receive at the moment and assume you're just asking about delivery dates unless it's clear it's a refund request.  Setting up a dedicated email address for refund requests would be a good idea.

So you acknowledge that he's been there, and seen their facility. You know BFL doesn't have any chips yet, so Kano can't see them yet. What soft of information are you looking for, again? And all of this demand for more and more detailed information from someone who is not a customer is hilarious.

Hm. I thought the whole thing was started to prove they are not lying and they are creating an ASIC. Now the visit is over and there is no sign of an ASIC? Instead the 'absolute worst case' shipment date has passed and there is no signal that BFL made any progress or is even developing an ASIC. Refund requested - still waiting.

They announced first and deliver last - if they deliver at all. Even this new swiss company might be faster than BFL.

They swapped him out for a body double. Hes probably in gitmo by now.

Yesterday was a bit of a non event coz I only slept 4 hours of the 45 previous hours and went to bed at 9pm

The point of me going was to see they are for real and they are doing what they say they are doing.
I certainly now have no reservations whatsoever saying that is true.

If delays happen, then, delays happen.

I've certainly proved to myself they are for real - and as soon as I can make a BFL ASIC hash with cgminer I'll certainly be telling everyone.
I expect that will be soon.
They certainly do have everything ready to accept populated, completed boards (boards with ASIC chips) from Chicago.
They will continue to use Chicago (and keep them available) until they are ready and happy with being able to use the machinery I took photos of in-house.

It still seems like unless you saw something ASIC hashing with your own eyes that there's still significant risk that there will be further delays that could render current orders unprofitable or stretch ROI into years.

If the final specs are anything like their current published specs, the BFL devices will be profitable up to Difficulties of 600 million to 2 billion at an exchange rate of US$25/BTC (depending on your local electricity costs). They wont be unprofitable any time soon.

Edit: Those Difficulties woud require network hashrates of 4300 Thps to 14300 Thps.
