If you want to load data through a GUI, you could use http://bitcoincharts.com/charts. Pick an exchange, time frame and interval time down to one minute. Then press Load raw data.

maybe you can try this site https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/btce/btcusd , in bitcoinwisdom allows you to read the bitcoin prices in the previous days, just slide the chart to the left with your mouse. Thank you

You get sites that gives you the average price from a few combined prices on some exchanges, like http://preev.com/ I will use that as a indication or just sign up at a exchange and check the local price there. You should rather use the average, because the prices on the different exchange differ a bit depending on the volume. ^smile^
