The biggest problem AFAIK is getting a clean ISO file to install the OS. Apple has no official source and newer MacBooks no longer come with a CD.

I know, but Im looking for a clean copy. Since I cant verify the download from there Id rather not use. I still have some leads to follow though.
I already have a copy, but just wondering what types of issues might arise? I mean I could skip VMWARE and install directly on the hardware too.
Running in VMs are known for causing issues depending on what you are doing exactly -- and I can't baby sit him if one tiny problem comes up.
Maybe I'll just let this Mac kid get his Mac.
AFAIK there are no problems with VMWare and Mac per se. If you have a copy you could just test it. Im not sure how much the free version is capable off though. In my personal experience the workstation versions by VMWare have issues with GPU computing as they cant directly access the hardware. That might result in issues with rending, but its not really my area and there are plenty of other hypervisors.
