Will you switch to a new technology, if it offers better features than Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is currently the top-notch crypto coin and I don't think there will be another candidate to dethrone it for the foreseeable future. The good thing about open-source projects is that they can quickly adapt to changes and evolve into a better product with time passing. However I do not believe in fanboyism in any form so if Bitcoin development is stalling and new better things come up on the horizon I won't be sacrificing possible profit by staying with the old technology out of nostalgia.

Yep, pretty much my same thoughts. I've played with Paycoins the moment it got released in the market. It was very promising yes, but it didn't really take long before the market took it down. Guess what i'm also trying to say in addition to this is that there's more to this cryptocurrencies than just the technology it offers. A big factor now would be is how it's being used and patronize by the market now. Bitcoin for as long as cryptocurrencies exists, will always be here.

Fair, my thought too the same. As long as cryptocurrencies are there bitcoin stay the first. I think if any new technology arrives, bitcoin will adopt it too. Anything can come, new technology or good features, i won't leave bitcoin for any reasons.

I will use it, but I don't think I'll switch from Bitcoin.
I guess even there's a better technology people would still use bitcoin.

I have been use PC for a long time, and I think MAC is better and I have not switched over.

Yes i think i would change if it will be adopted by more companies and there will be more user than bitcoin users.

We know Bitcoin was the first and is the most trusted Crypto currency out there at the moment and that it is backed by a huge network with tons of hashing power and good security, BUT would you

forget about all of that and go for a alternative technology with better features, once it is developed by all these banks? {Permissioned, private ledgers} They will obviously just copy the concept and

add some bells n whistles and then improve on scalability.

The governments will obviously make things easier for them and make it more difficult for Bitcoin, and then Bitcoin will start to lose ground and things will change in their favor. How do we stop that

or turn that against them? {The only solution I can see, is for us to educate the public and to prove to them that Bitcoin is better}

What will you do? Turn to a permissioned ledger, because things will be easier or stay with Bitcoin out of principle or because you support financial freedom? 

i think it is logical to think that it is easily possible for a new technology to come along and become better than bitcoin, i am not saying such technology exists right now or going to exist soon but i say it is possible just as bitcoin came along and is better than fiat as we know it.

but any new technology will have its ups and downs, nothing is perfect. besides it doesn't mean complete replacement of the old technologies as long they are not obsolete.

Depends, If the new technology is good and have a good future. I will switch to a new technology. If that new technology have more price than bitconi, i'm sure will switch.

i think almost all people here love bitcoin because its price and can used for investement,not take point to payment alternative,and i'm pretty sure if someday bitcoin have competitor that have better price and also can used as payment,people will start leave bitcoin.

not really bitcoin speaks for itself for me to trust. even if the government or any other company introduced a new technology better than bitcoin i will still be hesitant to use it.
