I used to have a US paypal before, though I didn't use it for big transactions. I forgot to connect with VPN and accidentally logged in.

They wanted me to verify US phone number, when I used my friend's, it says the name doesn't match with the phone number.

That's why I was asking if this will cause the same issue and it looks like it will.
