I'm new to bitcoin mining and i have seen people saying they get 300+ mhash with a radeon 5870. I have a laptop with a radeon 5870, 6gigs of ram, and an 8 core processor and it only pushes 150 mh/s tops using -v -w128 flag. Is there anything I can do to increase my output or is this because its a laptop card.

I think the Mobility 5870 has 800 stream processors, which makes it half the size of the desktop version. It's also 100-150MHz slower by default.

For AMD mobility card, the rule of thumb to get the desktop counterpart is to subtract 100. this means you have roughly a 5770, which should fold at 155 MH/s at stock speed. Looks just fine
