I'm working on an Instawallet type service, and I have bitcoind running on the backend of the server. My question is- how many requests can Bitcoind handle at once? If I have a 1000 Users making send requests at one time, how will bitcoind handle that?

Can I run more then one instance of Bitcoind? For example 2 servers running BitcoinD, each with the same initial Wallet file? And then have the instawallet server query one or the other depending on load? If they have the same wallet file, won't they see all the same transactions on the network? Will they stay in sync?

more or less retired.
