When Wright, an Australian computer engineer and inventor, publicly claimed that he is Satoshi this week, he also alluded to receiving help from Dave Kleiman, a Palm Beach County-based computer forensics specialist who died in 2013. According to Wright, Kleiman provided extensive help with the writing of the so-called Bitcoin whitepaper, the document that introduced the digital currency to the world in 2008.

As the Internet argues over the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, a search is underway in Florida for what may be his fortune — or at least a part of it. An attorney representing the brother of one of the key players in Craig Wright’s Satoshi story told Gizmodo that he and his client are searching for “buried treasure.”

An interesting article. It does pose some questions and theories.

Perhaps Craig Wright had the idea but couldn't do it himself, i.e. the actual code implementation fell to Dave Kleiman. Based on this article it is plausible that Craig Wright was the satoshi persona and shared the email ability with Dave Kleiman. However perhaps Dave Kleiman actually authored the code and as such held the alert keys and genesis block private keys as well as many of the private keys to the blocks with the funds.

Craig Wright not having this now comes out with some long way round proof as he lacks the keys for actual proof.

And whilst he might infact be "satoshi" or the original satoshi before sharing it he is not the actual "creator of bitcoin" but merely the "inventor i.e. idea behind bitcoin".

That is to say without Kleiman bitcoin would not exist.

I find especially interesting the parts about the USB key that kleiman always had on his person that his past workplace knew about. I think craig wright lacks what kleiman has.

The sad thing is if this is true and craig wright got his hands on that usb or private keys he could claim to have written it all giving no kudos to Dave.

The reclusive kleiman adds to this insane programmer ability too.

If it is true i hope his brother busts that usb key open gets those keys and gets the story straight. Nothing worse than someone claiming fame for something that wasn't theirs to claim.

However it all could be just spun bits and pieces. Wrights wife's comments aren't to be trusted as any benefit and fame he gets works to her. If she knew other wise she's not likely to say.

Interesting times. That $1 billion in bitcoin could hurt going forward. Honestly its better those coins remain holy grail things of legend and never move. Its part of the eco system now since they haven't moved for so long. They need to stay where they are as satoshi and bitcoins legacy.
