Pretty much what the subject says.  As a newb, it's really the only thing I can't fathom.  It seems to me very odd that for every crypto coin out there, you need to download some wallet app unique to that currency, set up strong passwords for each, keep encrypted and unencrypted addresses, yadda yadda.  While I get it and am capable of doing it, it seems like a huge hurdle for a user of average tech experience or less.  Then finding a mobile app that you can trust to keep each of your coins in ... yeah.  It's a lot.

Why is there not one (or more) universal app(s) you can set up to allow you to start sending and receiving BTC, LTC, NMC, or whatever new coin pops up immediately, makes encryption and cold storage simple, has a trustworthy mobile app, etc?

Or is there already one and I'm just slow?
