Although market cap is important, people tend to place more emphasis on price/bitcoin landmarks.
An ATH in bitcoin's price would attract a lot of attraction, whereas an ATH in market cap might not.

I'm incredibly excited that we're bordering on the edge of $9b again, It's definitely something that isn't worth scoffing at, and it is a huge difference from the $7b market cap we had just 4 or 5 months ago.

Maybe we'll see some more big players start getting involved if the market cap keeps going up like it has been, but you never know. We'll just have to wait and see, unless some of us have a sixth sense.

that being said, bitcoin has still a long way to go before it's 'forced' to stop growing.

once we reach a market cap of several trillions, that's about the time bitcoin has reached it limits.
