Poloniex question

Please note I am fairly new to cryptocurrencies and I'm still trying to catch up on all the info.

Anyway I just want to ask if Poloniex is a good exchange. A simple google search showed that they have been hacked before and that some BTC was stolen but it was paid back to its customers in full.

Will you still recommend Poloniex even tho it has a history of being hacked?

Poloniex has been good after the fact.

All exchanges are good until .... they are hacked!

Bottom line is dont use exchanges as your online wallet

If Poliniex was able to payoff all the lost Bitcoins when they we're hacked last March 2014 for me that is a good indication that they are taking care of their name and their client. Other site's that claims that they we're hacked will just close down the site and run away and forget about their client's.

No problems with Polo so far...  It's a good exchange where you can automate your trades.

Just avoid living your coins here. withdraw when possible

Do the smart thing with any exchange.

Keep coins only on exchange while trading.

Never, ever store coins on any exchange.

Poloniex is one of the greatest exchange site before i heard that they are hack but they are still alive and active.. so i think its a legit so that your money is safe if you trade in poloniex..

Polo been good to me so far I have no complaints. Their tech support is super helpful.

All in all, it was one of outstanding exchange site for cryptocurrency in the past and as of today. Don't worry on hacking attempts, i'm sure that they already put up some strict security on their site. I mean, who here does want to be rob? and it is also good to say that our money is safe since Poloniex never left their users like after the hacking that happened last march 2014.

Well, just like everybody says, it will always be good to never store your bitcoins on any exchange sites.

I really like polo. I've never used their cash services (if needed I just use coinbase), but they have never let me down. I've been using them for about 18 months and am quite satisfied.

IMO Poloniex is the best exchange, sure they got hacked but they paid it all back which proves to me that they are trustable. I really like their interface and the margin trading, also they don't just add every single altcoin but only the ones that actually have potential. So for me Poloniex is currently the best altcoin exchange

you should know one thing which is the most important thing to keep in mind all the time:

you should not really trust any of the exchange site, they can ALL turn into scam at any time, HISTORY has proven this many times before. google Mt.Gox and Cryptsy and you will see.

so do not leave anything on the exchange site.

i use poloniex and never had problem.
So yeh, i do recommend.

Any online service can be hacked, if they paid back their customers then it's ok to me.

No chance of this happening atm while the only good exchange is POLO. POLO being the only great exchange right now is helping ethereum in some ways and in some ways, hindering its growth. I think that POLO is more trustworthy than others. Remember that 13% hack? well they gave it all back. And supposedly that was just what wasnt in cold storage at the time. The future looks bright...to the moon!

Ditto what most folks here say, poloniex is pretty good.  I don't do a lot of trading and generally just use yobit currently,  but polo was good to me.  Their fees weren't so good if I recall.  They have relatively high withdrawal fees and I think deposit fees too.

Polo's never let me down; the few times I've had troubles with withdrawals and deposits, they solved 'em.

I also agree that Poloniex is a good exchange and I have not had any issues.  There are automated options for trading and I like the UI design.  Pretty intuitive in use and also trustworthy.

it was never hacked it was all just part of their XBC pump and dump scheme, i was around for the hack and remember what happened, users futuretrader & Whale were masterminds of this , they also done it with with ying/yang coin, they said the coins would be delisted so every1 would sell but then busoni has a change of heart and lets the coins remain on the market then all of a sudden they were hyped up and dumped  Why would someone hack the exchange and steal an altcoin with little value rather than take the bitcoins on the market?

Plus busoni had some markets hidden from users and sending a link to the market instead of it been viewable to all users to trade before every1 knew the market was there,
