Prophetic 1995 article by J. Orlin Grabbe. I didn't see it posted here so sorry if it's a repeat. In the second link, he goes onto to describe something very similar to Bitcoin.

The Diamond Age, by Neal Stephenson. It mentions in passing, almost a footnote, that cryptocurrency spelled the doom of the nation-state.
