Maybe you have a hidden scammer tag (is this what happens when people have a hidden scammer tag who tries to edit their posts?)

Have you tried refreshing the page before trying to edit the post? It sometimes happen to me and I just refresh and everything works fine.

This. I edit a post of mine several times per week and I've already developed the habit of refreshing the page before clicking on "Edit".

I did refresh and even restarted firefox.  Didn't fix it.  Whatever it was it's working again now.  First time I have ever had this issue and I edit old posts every day to get formatting for new ones.
