I've been mining namecoins lately.  Mainly to buy a few .bit domains.  Other than that, is it really worth it?

Well there is no extra load, and you can trade them for btc so why not. I am mining them on ozcoin, but their namecoin payout does not seem to work, so I just turned on their auto convert to bitcoin feature.

There's very little downside to mining namecoins. They are merge-mined alongside bitcoin, and you can always sell them on bte-e if you don't want them.
