I'm looking to pick up this soldering iron (or very similar) in the near future. If anyone on here already has one that is in GREAT (not good, GREAT) shape, then I will entertain those offers. Otherwise, I'll be looking for someone to either buy the item (items if I get extra tips and some solder) from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Weller-WLC100-40-Watt-Soldering-Station/dp/B000AS28UC, or to buy me a giftcard in the value of the items I will be buying (in either case, we can use a free escrow service).

I have done a few transactions on here (bought a few steam items from Dando, pcie extenders from scifimike and some cards from chungenhung) as well as more transactions on computer forums (see heatware: http://heatware.com/eval.php?id=66694).

I would like to pay all in BTC (approx 9-10BTC), so I will need roughly the same number of days to mine the coins I need. I'm just posting this thread now to see who would be willing to help me out. Smiley

PS. If my credibility is still in doubt, I am willing to provide state authorized ID, as well as post the links to the threads which contain my transactions in BTC.

Thanks in advance!

-Chance

Bumping this thread. I'm no longer looking for someone to purchase one through amazon. If anyone has a nice soldering station though, I am interested and will pay in BTC.

I have a Weller very similar to that and love it too much to part with it. I think it's really the tip that makes a good iron, though. I think the tip must be made out of silver on mine for it to work so well. Having temperature control and what not is quite handy. It's a very quality unit.

That's why I'm looking for one. Wink I have some video card voltage mods to do, and I there is no way I am even going to try the more delicate stuff with a $15 Radio Shack iron.

Take a look at a Hakko.  I have a Hakko 936 with various tips. Can easily solder .5mm pitch tsops. Like sega01 said, the tips are a key part of the equation.

What kind of tips do you have, what condition is the unit in (has it been taken care of, or has it just been collecting dust in the open?), and what are you looking to get for it?

Sorry, not selling mine.  It's my daily driver  Wink I use it all the time. I've got a whole bunch of tips, wedge and conical. From 1/64 on up. Just mentioning that I've been pretty happy with the Hakko. You mmight want to exapnd your search to more than just Wellers.

You see, that's the opposite of what I'm looking for. Not only is everything over priced on eBay, but you should be offering an incentive to use bitcoins, and not to use my PayPal account so that bitcoin can grow. So I'm going to say no to your offer.
