over 1 million international tourists made 2.4 million visits to Australian casinos in 2007-08. International tourists who visited casinos spent a total of $4.9 billion during their time in Australia — an average of $4,940 per visitor, compared to $2,630 by international visitors not visiting casinos. It accounts for a significant percent in Australian export industry as tourism industry is known as export industry.

If a person goes to Australia from another country to spend $5k in casinos there, this person, by all means, is not poor. So I have no pity for them losing money, because that's a small money for them and they lose it on their entertainment. Do you pity those going to expensive restaurant and spending $500 there during one evening? Me neither. This is how redistribution of wealth works: Those having more than enough spend it in luxury hotels, restaurants and casinos and the money goes for payment for labor of poor people.
