When people say dead coin, I assume that means it's a coin that's no longer mined and so it doesn't have a functioning blockchain. They have lived on on certain exchanges but they're just entries on a database as you can't deposit or remove them.
A pump and dump is when an individual or group buys up a large amount of coins quietly and then ignites the market by buying quickly, either their own coins or what's available. Other traders get excited and start to buy in. Once the price is high enough the pumpers dump the coins they bought before at a price much higher than they paid and then walk away.
Everyone else is left with something that was nothing but empty hype with no demand outside the artificial pump and the price collapses again.

Well, I think in the altcoin markets they're all artificial pumps but maybe I'm being cynical. I'm not sure how you could ever be certain whether something was totally artificial. It might be genuine excitement from a large group of people. I'd say the worse and more pointless the coin, the more obvious the pump. So if a big coin like Ethereum pumps that might be down to thousands of individuals, if something that's low down on coinmarketcap.com suddenly goes from $100 in daily trading volume to tens or hundreds of thousands then that's likely to be a pure pump and dump.

based on what I understan dead coin are coins that does no longer have traders trading them. That is when their market are already put to halt. Pump and dump are the scenario in thetrade market where the price will rise and then suddenly just fall. It typically happens to scam coins.

A coin's starting price can be decided by several different factors. If it was created by an ICO, pre selling the coin before it's actually been made, the first price on an exchange is often more than what people paid in the pre fund in an attempt to profit. Often the price then collapses when everyone sells at the same time on launch day. Other times the very first price is set by the first buyer and the first seller. It's pure guesswork. The only coin that ever started off at absolutely nothing is Bitcoin. The best source for finding out about new coins is still the altcoin announcement section here. That's where most of the action takes place. By the time a coin is on an exchange it's likely to have been announced on here quite a long time before.

When we say dead coin, it means the coins is no longer listed in any exchanges platform and has no price value at all, while pump and dump they do something untrue with the price of the coins to make it higher to get the interest of the other traders in the exchange. That's what I thought.

Dead coins are those with zero buy support, and no volume for the past weeks and also no updates on their thread and their wallet are offline about articial pump we can hardly tell you need to follow the updates on their announcement thread or on their site if they offer something new that makes investors want to buy more.

Pump and dump are the scenario in thetrade market where the price will rise and then suddenly just fall. It typically happens to scam coins. you can also call that a dead coin, but these types of dead coins are not never really dead as long as you are seeing them on an exchange site because they can get pumped at any moment especially if they are listed on good exchanges. a real dead coin would be a coin than nobody is holding or mining any more.

The most dead coins can be found at https://yobit.net they are full of shit coins. You can start to collect them easy and pray that they once will become more worth than 1 satoshi. Anyway I think that no exchange should keep supporting this dead coins. If the owners don't care why should others keep supporting this trash.

Agree as long as if that coin is not yet deleted on that exchange sites! It has a possibilities that it will pump but it takes really time because we can say that some of the trading is holding that coin. Agree you can call it dead if no one is holding it or using it.

In my own opinion, dead coin are those altcoin or cryptos which are dont have any value or shall we say dump hard to 1 sat and never intend to pump anymore because no one is already supporting that coin and because of that you would definitely lose up money if you intend to buy a dead coin thats why we should be careful on doing these kind of things. Pump and dump are just simply describes on increasing prices and decreasing prices afterall.

That's what I thought. In my point of view, when we say dead coin, no one traders who buy and sell the coins. The dev has no plan to pump his coin. No traders has interested to pump and dump the said coin.

If there are no nodes a coin is dead. Even if it can be traded, without nodes the coins can't leave the exchange so they are no longer a coin, just orders on an exchange.
