A moderator (ThiagoCMC) is being accused of being a scammer.

I don't have a opinion about what happened, but I could notice that forming a opinion now is very hard, because several of the posts related to it got deleted. Since ThiagoCMC is a moderator, I guess he deleted the posts that were within his reach, and posts that he made himself originally (since you can delete your own posts I guess).

I think something must be done to ensure moderators being accused do not go rampaging destroying evidence. This is good for the accuser (since the evidence might prove the guy IS a scammer) and for the accused (since rampaging deleting posts look very shady...)

Yet, during the discussion I saw lots of personal addresses being thrown around, this also needs some sort of punishment, and post redaction (But not deletion, the addresses were inside posts with important proofs)

theymos can pull deleted posts if he's trying to cover up something he did.

Did he delete whole threads, or just posts from threads?  It's best to link to anything you have so it can be investigated.

Some whole threads are seemly gone.

I was skipping around links and stumbling in deleted stuff, and once I did a "back" in my browser and a post I had just read was gone. So I cannot really provide links (since some of the stuff that is gone is really gone, I had seen it in the unread posts list, and cannot get again to it)

Check browser history to see the addresses of the posts?  Shouldn't be too hard as I assume this is pretty recent stuff.

this one was important (I guess), the link is being referred as a previous deal that the scam accuser had with the accused... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149851.0

this thread (in portuguese) someone wonders where the "rest of the thread" is... I never saw the entire thread, so I don't know what is missing from it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=164118.msg1716843#msg1716843

I got a mute call without ID in my cell phone. That was probably from ThiagoCMC since it is a number that I use for my business and I just barely get calls like that. The rascal is trying to intimidate me at all cost.

ThiagoCMC,

Do not dare try to intimidate me or even come near my property. You dot not know with what you are dealing. If you threaten me in any way which harm my body or my property, I will deliver you straight to the Federal Police and get in touch with my friends in the Civil Police.

Pay what you own before the situation gets worse for you.

I removed only the posts under my own thread...

That guy, Augusto Croppo, is just too crazy.

I do not have ANY kind of business with him and I did not give any freedom for him to meddle in my negotiation.

Any problem, I'm here.

Also, I already start send payments to Rodrigo, the guy I do have debt. Look: http://blockchain.info/tx/27d2b1e76b904294f435a467a5b50972ad180626057ce70ef78a50e83fb6e1b2

I'm not trying to hide anything, since the problem is almost solved with Rodrigo, he is just waiting for the rest of payment (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=164118.msg1716521#msg1716521). I split and delete that thread because first, it was my thread, and second, because I do not want my name close to Rodrigo / Augusto and all that crap.

Again, Augusto is just nuts.

I am not deleting other's people threads.

But, if I find a link to my own private information posted by Rodrigo and Augusto, I'll delete if I'm able to do it.

Regards,
Thiago

So you didn't remove this? Theymos can easily verify that.

As I said, I removed the posts containing my private information or any link to it.

And my own thread.

If I did something wrong, please, let me know.

The thread I removed (in fact, I split it), was about a LOAN:

This one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=164118

Since I already start sending the payments to Rodrigo (https://blockchain.info/address/15tKRB4Le3LZ7Qje9PUFAMGyMKSH8Fmc7U), under the new terms, I tough that the old bullshit doesn't need to be there.

So, I split that thread, starting from the new agreement.

You guys can restore it, no problem.

But please, do not post any private information there.

Augusto is already doing that and no one seems to care.

What the? Why are you not nuking pretty much the whole scammer accusations thread because it's full of dox? The fact that you have mod powers shouldn't mean people can't post your private info but can post others.

Theymos, what is the forum's official policy on personal information?

Not finding the explanation given in either of these threads satisfactory.  Mods should not be able to remove negative comments against them - especially those accusing them of behaving improperly in business dealings.  If they truly believe that a post about them should be removed, they should be required to report it to other mods/theymos.

Regardless of my opinion about the original issue, I believe there was a blatant abuse of moderator power in this instance and such abuses need to be prevented in the future.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Agreed. I don't even have an opinion about the original issue.

ThiagoCMC, please advise me if I should report a few hundred posts containing private personal information of Trendon Shavers, Thomas Van Riper, Ian Bakewell, Josh Zerlan, and others. Tongue
