Hey guys, it's nearing that time of year when I have nothing to do. I'm looking to code.
Are there any ideas that you would like to see come to life? Just any interesting project. I don't want anything to do with holding funds, like a wallet or the like. I want to find a simple project to work on as a hobby, something like Preev, a great service to the community
I'm more of a web developer, so keeping things to this scope of work will also help.
I'm out of ideas. These are the ones I've come up with so far: - HD wallet transaction notifier (You put in your wallet's public key, which you will have to trust me with, and my site will email you of any transaction to change, used and new addresses.) - Address balance checker (A simple site that will tell you the balance of your saved addresses) - A site like Preev that supports more currencies and exchange rates
I've come to you guys for ideas, and whether or not you like the proposals above.

Sure, i'd be happy to! Depending on the project, I was thinking that to open-source it would allow the community to play around and give more transparency

For the LBC, I would need: A better/more efficient way to distribute current h160 with funds on them.At the moment, from time to time a blockparser run parses the then-current blockchain, extracts the h160 of interest. Then a perl storable ~360MB is built and also a bloom filter ~512MB is built. Depending on the client, the users have to download one or the other. Ideally, the server would be aware of new addresses with funds appearing and addresses being drained of funds, then it could offer the clients more frequently small "diffs" for the data they have. I'd have no objection to offer this as an open API as service to the community outside the scope of LBC. I know how to do it, but lack the time atm. Rico

hello friend i am currently working on this (click to enlarge): a simple tool to make a raw unsigned transaction. i mostly am doing it for fun and to learn more about bitcoin protocol. but it can have some practical usages too for creating the rawTX and transferring to offline computer to sign with a bitcoin wallet. it is in C♯ if you know anything about it you can contribute when i published it on github (soon) also i currently have 35 active projects in my VS project folder and some of them are for publish.

Hello Decoded! I have been working on a Bitcoin Cheque concept. The aim is to make instant one-click payments possible. The project is open-source based. I'm working on some Wordpress plugins and app to demonstrate it. (Environment is php+javascript) Check it out, and if you find anything of interest, please let me know... https://bitcoincheque.org/

Thats pretty hard these days there is ways of doing it but the government wants it cut so they are only going to try to make it harder not to use banks.

I've decided to work on a small project, where you can sign up with your username and some addresses that you want to watch. If we detect that you have accessed an account on your device before, it will automatically log into that account and tell you your balances straight away.

Thats pretty hard these days there is ways of doing it but the government wants it cut so they are only going to try to make it harder not to use banks. I made a comment regarding the need for banks in my own thread, I don't want to steal Decoded's thread with my political discussion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1233148.msg16357866#msg16357866By the way, the Bitcoin Cheque has a collection of smaller and bigger projects. One of the smaller ones are payment/banking apps to be running in browsers or phones. A prototype is available at github and install from chrome marketplace.

I will give you really good BTC project idea - multi crypto desktop wallet with Bitcoins, Litecoins, Doge, Monero, ETH etc. coins, so you can send/receive them from your desktop. Currently there are only some Web online multi currency wallets.

I have loads of paper wallets all over the place, with small amounts stashed in them. I might suggest some Paper wallet tracker, that would keep a total of all your combined coins. < A offline version for more privacy would also be useful, like Bitaddress.org >
This could also be helpful with people doing Bitcoin Air drops. They could see a instant summary of all paper wallets created to determine which paper wallets were used and funds transferred, and at a pre-defined time, they could claim all the unused paper wallets, to re-use it again. < Explanation = You create 1000 paper wallets and start to distribute them, with the requirement that the bitcoins on these paper wallets should be moved within 3 months from the event. If it was not moved, the funds within these paper wallets would be re-claimed and used for the next Air drop >
With this App, you could monitor all 1000 paper wallets in one go. ^smile^

correct me if i am wrong but that App is called a simple bitcoin wallet with the ability to import private keys and as for spending the safe way of doing it is to spend each of those coins by creating the transaction with the lock_time=(60*24*6 + currentBlockHeight) and signing it with the private key, destroy the pk and keep the hash to broadcast in 3 months. if you are really doing this yourself i can make you a simple code to make these transactions (you should sign with a real wallet though) and as for pushing it can also be done with a simple function to push all of them at once after the 3 months.

We want a nice GUI that are very user-friendly, not a wallet service which is not specifically developed for that. My thinking would be that if a easy App specifically developed for this was created, we would see more Air drops being done to promote Bitcoin. You could even add other Alt coins to increase your target market. My suggestion for a name = CoinDrop ^smile^

Project description -Tape printing of scannable TO codes with balances Skills required -JS, HTML Equipment -Android cell phone Use case 1 - create a tape 1. The user pastes a long list of Bitcoin / Litecoin / Dogecoin addresses (optionally with space separated "balances") into a text area 2. User selects a detailed format, online balance checking or other options. 3. The user hits Generate button. 4. If the balances should be checked, a specific URL is used to poll the balances. 5. Nothing but a long tape of bar codes appears on a HTML site. 6. User is able to export the tape to a PDF file, as well as print the tape from the browser. 7. Upon printing, every individual bar code on the paper tape can be effortlessly scanned using the provided app. See U.C. 3. Use case 2 - wrong addresses present 4a Invalid addresses on the tape are displayed upside down, with a special symbol, with negative balance, or the whole tape is not shown. 5. User is notified how many invalid addresses are present. 6. User is able to clear invalid addresses, as well as ignore the warning. 7. Continue the use case 1 step 3. Use case 3 - scan tape bar codes 1. User scans individual code on a physical tape / HTML / PDF file using a phone app. 2. The code is scanned correctly and a specific activity is launched on the phone. Extra The width of the tape is 80mm, 57mm or custom. The length of the tape page is unlimited or N codes per page or fixed height in mm. [URL 1] http://www.2c0.de[URL 2] https://movedon2otherthings.github.io/
