I was just wondering, what happened with James D'Angelo? ... I used to watch his Bitcoin Network videos all the time, but I do not see

them on Youtube anymore. He was such a active supporter of Bitcoin, and then everything went silent? I hope this has nothing to do with

the things that happened at that one event? Anyone know where he is, and what he is doing now? The guy did a excellent job, and he did

not get enough credit for his contribution.  Sad

I know he has some issues with decentralization, and Chinese dominance.. but that cannot be the only reason why he went silent?

James, if you are out there.. respond please, some of us value your inputs and contribution to Bitcoin.  Wink

I heard he came unhinged and said some weird stuff at the MIT bitcoin expo.  I think since that time he fell off the radar.
After that, he said "Keep in mind, I'm not in Bitcoin each day..."  and he goes on to say he's mainly into US politics now and his main business is (and has been) music.
Oh yeah, and he hates proof of work.  That right there eliminates Bitcoin from him not the other way around.

Is this the talk you are referring to on day 1? --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVuUZm4l-ss&feature=youtu.be&t=31m18s

I like it when people challenge the norm and when they think out of the box. His opinions is just one angle of the wider debate. Why

do we simply dismiss people, when they debate something that we are not comfortable with? Well, he did a lot of good, when he was

on our side.  Sad

Yeah that's the one.  I don't know if he's too lazy to talk or what but that speech makes for painful listening.  He makes far too much use of glottalization.  I'm not sure if he feels it makes him sound more intelligent but to me it's annoying.   It sounds like he's running out of air and I'm half expecting him to keel over.  Maybe he should stand up straight or take a @#$%# breath! I digress Wink

It's not that people dismissed him; he dismissed himself.  He realized that Bitcoin is proof-of-work and he moved on.  He's concentrating on even BIGGER things he can't change.  American politics.  I heard after he gives that up, he's going to fix the global-warming issue.

Do you have a link to it? I would rather say, some of the people in the community made him react weird. Yes, the speech at MIT was

probably not his finest half hour, but the rest of his work was excellent. There are some people, who dismissed him.. without even

listening to what he had to say. I would also be angry, if someone ignores me, and the point I am trying to make. Give the guy a break,

he has a right to his opinion too.  Wink

When you start spouting about Satoshi making a big mistake with proof-of-work (as it relates to Bitcoin), I think you're going to have to expect a little blow-back and perhaps some ostracization from the Bitcoin community. Sure he did some good work but I would like to add that the Bitcoin community wasn't responsible for removing his bitcoin related youtube vids.  That was his own doing.  As I said - he removed himself from Bitcoin.  So give us a break.
