How do I change the Litecoin data directory for miner app?

I have the Litecoin program on a different letter drive than C. I have the miner program in the Litecoin folder but it gives me: Cannot obtain a lock on data directory C:\...\Litecoin. Litecoin is probably already running.

I need to change that location. I have searched for hours and can't find a solution. People have said for the bitcoin app, "Oh just but -datadir "X:\"" etc. Well I see no where to put that tag anywhere when the program won't even open.

EDIT: The application I downloaded was not mining software... ID10T error.
