Hello everybody

Plot twist: we have free electricity so we don't have to look at power usage
Budget: 450€ (500$)
Available stuff: Notebook - CPU - Intel Core i5-6200U 2.30Ghz, GPU - amd Radeon r5 m330, Intel hd graphics 520, plug, 50cmx50cmx50cm space
wi-fi

I need your help to find the most profitable solutions

1. Buy scrypt miners - a) 3x Zeus Thunder X6 NX Gen for 450$ together = 63MH/s - possible earnings 4$ per day

Problems - The seller is located in USA and we are in Czech Republic, The 3 miners are each 20lbs so the postage fees can exceed 300$

b) SilverFish-24M-270W - 268$ - free shipping from china

Problems - low hashrate vs price
             - I don't know if we can really trust sellers on ebay

2. Buy Antminer - a) Antminer s7 - 5 068 Gh/s for 420€, no postage fees, can earn about 3.6$ per day

problems - the fans are 62decibels which is unfortunately not acceptable

b) the same guy offers 7x antminer s1 each for 15€ so the invest would be only 105€ but the hashrate is only 1260 Gh/s - earnings 0.9$ per day
- they not so loud - around 20db, but I don't know how it would be with powering all these 7 miners and storaging

3. Build PC there are lot of options and wide range of different Gpu

Some questions -
1. Is it true that you need at least 2gb graphic card to mine eth?
2. It's really hard to calculate gpu hashrate on different algorhytms but we use this type of calculation on website - https://badmofo.github.io/ethereum-mining-calculator/ I chose for example AMD HD 7970 - I can see it has 20.1 MH/s for ethereum mining
then I check the graphic card on https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison I can see there it has around 640kh/S ( profit per day 1.14$) so now I can use this calculation because not all the cards are on the list on the first website, for example one guy is seling Radeon R7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC 3GB for 92€, Which has around 700 khs according to litecoin hardware comparison website if I use calculations before, this card should have around 22 mhs - (1.25$ per day) - can I use this type of calculations?
3. How can I figure out the hash rate for scrypt and cryptonight etc.?

My frined was doing little research about the best graphic cards hashrate/price and found out that AMD Radeon R9 280X would be the best option right now - if you have some advice or experience please comment

Then about the case - is it true that we can't just put the best graphic cards to old pc with old cpu and small ram, what are the minimum parametres for cpu?

There is also question about the graphic card slots...
I found something like this for 150€ https://pc.bazos.sk/inzerat/66159435/Predam-pc.php  -
Amd Phenom II X4 940 3,2ghz
4GB ram
1,5TB HDD
Ati Radeon HD6950 2GB - the graphic card seems pretty good I've found it on comparison and it has around 400-450 khs (0.8-0.9$ per day (seems too good to me))
but I don't know how many slots are there...
Last question - Do we need some external cooling for all the graphic cards inside the case? - If yes what is the best and cheapest solutions

So there are all the options we have, as I said we don't want to go over our budget 500$ for this, Tell us everything about what would you do in our situation, every advice... Hope we will mine soon  Cheesy
Thank you very much for your help

Right now doing deeper research into gpu, I found one guy who has EVGA-GTX-TITAN, He told me that he is mining monero on 2000 H/s with this card but in the comparison list it has only 485 khs, where's the catch?

I don't know what hashrate you can expect from gtx titan, but you obviously are getting confused with algo's. Check again for the correct algo speed in that comparison list.
monero uses cryptonight algo, and you claim to have read 485 kh on the list which is impossible (485 kh= 485 * 10^3 hashes, or 485 000 H/s). You were probably looking sha256 speed, which is useless.

Here's a list of the said card performanse on different algo's (http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/gtx-titan-x-hashrate/)

Regarding your "project" , i would personally try to find more funds and then go into gpu mining with a notable rig with 5-6 gpu's, anything else is collecting change and
waste of money, because it's not worth really to have a mining rig with only 1 gpu, due to the costs of other parts you need to build it.

EDIT:

User philipma (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=64507) is selling bitcoin ASIC @2th at 440 watts that you may also find interesting, if i'm correct it would generate about 1,2-1,4$/day

One thing you seem to be missing is that different cryptocurrencies have different proof of work algorithms.
Meaning comparing hash rate between them has no meaning.

ATI/Radeon have better design for hashing than Nvidia cards.
In terms of value (price/hashing power), Nvidia cards will always come short.

Guys thanks for your responses, I'm fully avare of the fact that different coins have different algos, I was just confused because the EVGA GTX TITAN SC 6gb has 2000 hs for cryptonight and 485khs in the comparison (which is probably wrong type or wrong number there) and Amd hd 7950 which has about 500 hs on cryptonigh has much more (about 670khs) in the comparison list, there was the problem... just how to calculate power for different algos there are only few lists which can have wrong info...

We will probably buy this kind of PC -3GHZ Intel Core2Duo e8400, 4 GB RAM,MB Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L, 250GB HDD,radeon HD4800 512MB,Windows 10 home , the motherboard should have 5 slots for the cards then we will get the adapters - x1pci to x16pci and we will buy those graphic cards :

Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Vapor-x
AMD Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II (3072 MB)
AMD Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB

We want to get approx 60 MH/s on eth

You could probably get away with running 2 or 3GB RAM; some users report a bit more lag, but if you'd like  to shave a few dollars off of your build, that might work.

You can also buy a 60GB HDD if mining is all you plan on doing; you could even just boot off USB if you get the software installed on there.

We are now at the last stage

So the rig will probably looks like:

3GHZ Intel Core2Duo e8400, 4 GB RAM,MB --> GA-EP43-DS3L, 250GB HDD, gpu - radeon HD4800 512MB (we will remove this one),Windows 10 home (we can instal linux or maybe eth-os later)

price for this pc is only 100€ which is better deal than buying mother board for mining , cpu + ram... I just contacted the seller if the motherboard is rev1 or rev2, I think in rev2 there are only 3x pciex1 slots so we will have to know for sure

Psu - looking for cheap Corsair CX 850m - 850W which will power 2 cards and then probably something like this I-TEC Advance Ultimate Gamer 900W - which can power one card and more later

The best part  Grin
Gpu

We will definitelly get 3 cards we have few offers there

- Gigabyte Radeon R9-290X WindForce - 100€ - 25mhs
- ASUS R9 280X - 100€ 25mhs
- PowerColor AMD Radeon R9 280X 3 GB -looking for one on ebay right now for good price - 25mhs

together we will teoretically get 75mhs on Ethereum mining which can get us approx 4-5$ per day depends on eth price...

We just need to sort out the storaging, stand, software stuff, best drivers....
We are really confused about the psu pin connectors, I know that every of the cards mentioned above needs to be connected to the psi x1 through the psix1 to psix16 and then to power through 6+2 pin and 6 pin, but I don't know which psu have these adapters - for example the itec psu mentioned before has specifications like - Connectors for ATX 20+4 pin, 6x SATA, 4x Molex, 1x Floppy, 1x PCI-E (6+2 pin), 1x PCI-E (6pin), 1x 4+4pin for motherboard (EPS 8 pin), So it means we can plug in only 1 card in there?

Thanks for help
