I have some ideas to improve on Mt.Gox. I was speaking with a programmer friend of mine who is not very familiar with Bitcoin; He looked at Gox and told me that it would cost over $100,000 to code a site like Gox. Does that price sound correct?

No. Trading engine of MtGox is not very good written, I wouldn't give more than $5,000. But a good one should cost something like 100k.

Do most concur that MtGox's trading engine is poorly written?

It's so laggy. Only 2 options here: a) it's written very poorly; b) it runs on Pentium II with 16 MB RAM.

Sounds like an opportunity, I'm an entrepreneur with means, but I am not a programmer. The Bitcoin community would benefit from a better site. So programmers let's team up and create one Cool PM me if interested.
