For some reason, I can't find this specific Powercolor RX 480 anywhere other than NewEgg and NewEgg's Ebay store...

It's marked as Powercolor Red Dragon RX-480 but seems to resemble their 470 (and even 460) with single fan. It's only $195 out the door for this 4GB RX480, but I'm thinking it's some kind of mis-listing. Even if it is real, I'd question the cooling for long-term mining with only one fan, though I know power consumption is about the same as something like an R9 270, and many of those class have only one fan...

Here is the link on Newegg to the card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131706&cm_re=powercolor_red_dragon-_-14-131-706-_-Product

However looking at other Powercolor reviews (including a "Red Dragon" model with TWO fans) doesn't show great results... So for the money, it'd either be this or a reference 4GB card, since 8GB seems useless for 1080p/1440p gaming, and my primary use is mining anyway...

Any thoughts?

thoughts initially are wrong section. you posted this in marketplace which doesnt make sense if your not buying/selling anything. apart from that cooling shouldnt matter that much just place it next to an additional fan if your super worried or underclock it a bit

Shoot, I meant to post it under mining hardware. Must have posted it after I had searched or something like that... Yeah, I just feel like it's going to run cool anyway. Under 80c at load and I'm mostly fine with it I suppose.

Price is legit since on the Canadian website its similarly priced.

However the RED DRAGON seems like crap, nothing like the RED DEVIL.

The Red Devils are cool, but I feel like they're way oversized for an RX 480... I know it packs a punch, but the cooler looks like its for a ~600 watt 295x2, not a ~150 TDP RX 480... Still, the Red Dragon seems a little underwhelming. But considering the price of a used R9 380, and this not being much more, but also brand new with a warranty... Decisions, decisions... :/

4GB Isn't much good as you mentioned for mining- one of the main reasons why it's priced pretty low and why it isn't even very good for gamers. You can easily buy 8GB for a little more and get more gaming and mining out of it. Doesn't use too much power compared to other earlier models, so one fan seems sufficient to cool the gpu. Two fans is bit overkill on the 480 imo, but I guess it works better for miners and such Smiley

Well... I did actually just win a couple of XFX 8GB reference 480's for avg $225/card... I actually don't mind a bit of extra noise, and it seems like 8GB custom cards are at least $250.

Would you guys go reference 8GB RX 480 for $225?

I bought one to day, power color GPU are not to bad but it's brand new one from them. can't say on the retail price it might be now with NV lowing there prices to force AMD to lower there's even more .

well know in week or two . and if you shop around you can find a 8gb 470 by xfx i did but was to late buying it or wait two weeks for the next shipment for under 200 . and a lot of 470 4gb are selling for around  169 to 189 price range or may be lower . the one review said its great but i don't follow reviews and can all ways send it back no big deal to me they pay shipping back i don't pay a thing . should have it in two days. I don't want the game may give it to a kid next door .
