Hello There,

A couple of hours ago, I found one bug on yobit and with that I was able to withdraw some excessive amount from my yobit wallet. I reported it to them and they fixed the bug within an hour and honoured me with 0.0105 BTC as a bonus.

PS - I got another mail from them and got an additional bonus (in yobit code) of 0.10 BTC.. Damn Happy Smiley

I'm not sure is this right section to share this or not but I want to thank yobit, I appreciate their gesture.

Best

Could you explain what was the bug in detail.

Also it is nice that they actually paid you good amount to report that bug which may have cost them huge amount of loss, just like another bitfinex disaster.

It's good to see a guy like you who don't think about stealing from someone/platform..  Wink Wink

I don't think it is wise to discuss it in public, All I can tell is that it was regarding withdrawal and I was able to withdraw excess amount than my actual bitcoin balance.

You are lucky that you found the the bug and get your bonus from yobit.. this is what other site are giving rewards if you found bugs in their site..
I think it is not better to discuss or to share it with them because it is risky maybe they are still not fix the issue but it is good. they are giving you additional bonus of 0.1 btc i hope i can found some bugs too..

That's great.  Grin Giving you some reward is indeed reasonable.

What really got my attention though was that Yobit support was actually able to respond to your email that fast. haha. They're usually known for having very bad support.(takes very long)

Still, it's a great change.  Grin

Nice going OP.

It's good that you did not exploit it for personal gain but I feel like you should've been rewarded more.

If it's as serious as it sounds, it seems like they could have lost a lot more than 0.01 BTC... like last withdrawal bug at poloniex cost them 97BTC.

Yes, initially they gave me a bonus (worth amount which I was able to grab successfully) and then they might have realised the importance of the issue and gave an additional bonus.  I am not a programmer so I was not finding but, I found it accidently.

Thanks, I opened a ticket and immediately shouted in shoutbox to grab attention, fortunately, one support member was online and he informed to the technical department about it.

To be honest, I am happy with the signature campaign earnings (they are best at it) and the bug is fixed now and that was important. According to me, any negative news like hacking or stealing bitcoin related portals affect the goodwill of bitcoin so we should understand our responsibility as a bitcoin user and that's what I did.

I'm glad you are happy with your reward, I know what I would have done if I found it the same bug... Cheesy

Lol. It would have been noticed sooner or later especially if it was abused.

Plus the fact that OP's account there is surely linked to his bitcointalk.org account, so that's risking being banned there, kicked from his campaign, and getting neg trust for his account.

Who knows if he'd have been able to get .1 before being flagged.
So, overall, it was a good decision. Haha.  Cheesy

I did what I was supposed to do in such conditions, for me any kind of undue advantage brings guilt with it.

I believe that reputation is the biggest asset that we can have, and yes, I was able to make money with both good (1% probability) and bad  (99% possibility) practice, I choosed good one and won reward.

I wanted to share this news with fello bitcoiners and now locking this thread  Smiley
