I came across this item:

I spoke to the seller and it turns out that he is indeed selling a physical bitcoin note with a public and private key on it.
However, he didn't answer me if the private key is hidden or at least if there is a way to know that no one already had access
to the private key.

Also, do you think that this kind of item may have an interest in itself (collectible purpose).

I think that he is just trying to get around Ebays rules because the description says bank deposit for instant transfer and that believes me to think he would just send you the  btc. These are probably just some crummy paper wallets printed from a free template loaded with .3 BTC so he can sell it at a premium

So it looks like a loaded paper wallet type piece.  Without know the person behind it i wouldnt trust it.  How do you know the priv key is secure?  If you buy, sweep asap but then you are just better off buying straight btc off an exchange.

Indeed, Hunt down a note from papersafe.org . Far better option.

It looks like a paper wallet from Bitaddress.org.
It would be way better for you to create one for yourself. (I wouldn't recommend that though)

You'd be better off buying some Bitcoins from an exchange like Wheelz suggested.

Well, upon second thought this could actually be a good buy. Its 330 EURO or $346 for .3 BTC If BTC  increase to USD $1,154 than this auction would be under face value. Assuming that the BTC is delivered of course but you are protected by Ebay correct?

I believe you would only be protected for the card/physical item that is shipped to you.  I don't think ebay supports sellers for cryptocurrency funds so unless they changed their terms ebay does not protect against unfunded "funded" items and only protects against physical goods descriptions.

Put simple, better be safe than sorry.
And they are overpriced too.
