Hi everyone.

Started doing this a few days ago on my 5770 gfx card and hitting around the 180mhash mark using -v -w 128 -f 0. using guiminer, So far the returns are ok but was looking at the mining hardware bit.

this mobo can support a second gfx card. and I was thinking for the price a 5870 as it pushes out around 350 mhash if not a little more after some playing. and down the line changing the 5770 to another 5870. and is it best to xfire them or leave them unlinked. I use dual monitor at the mo so plugging a second monitor into the other card is not an issue

So is this card the best cash=power considering I use this rig now and again for the odd game so dont want to change it to a dedicated miner

oh btw the processor is a amd Phenom II X4 955

Thanks all

thanks all. thought xfire would have to be not connected. I am going to have to resist the impulse to go out and just spend $200-250 on a new card at lest for a week or 2 get some bitcoins to offset the cost

You could buy a 5870 now, install it in the primary slot, 5770 in the secondary slot.

When it's time to game, stop mining on the 5870 and continue mining on the 5770.
Same concept when you get the second 5870, except if running crossfire, then you'll have to disable crossfire.
