It has been discussed previously.

Some believe it's bullish, as it allows hedge funds to finally be sanctioned by the CFTC to directly invest in bitcoin with (supposedly) fully collateralized credit swaps through LedgerX. Naturally it should mean some larger investor money rolling into the Bitcoin market over time.

However, some believe it can also be viewed as a negative. The CFTC has a very long & arduous history with the control and manipulation of the price of precious metals, with naked shorting and spoofing being rampant for years now. This is something that the Bitcoin community does not want to see happen with bitcoin as well.

Try reading beyond the first sentence youngling and wonderful things will be revealed to your mind.

As the article points out it's an unquestionably legit route for Big Bucks. I'm not sure Big Bucks will do real bitcoins any favours. It's going to happen no matter what so we may as well bend over and slacken.
