Help with ATI Winflash and backing up BIOS

XFX RX 480 8GB Hard Swap Edition

Whenever I try to backup my BIOS I only get a 256kb file so when I attempt to edit with Polaris Editor it complains so I am afraid of using the modified BIOS.  Why will Winflash not do the 512kb backup?

I was using 256kb bioeses too, and cards are working,
I see you card is with dual bios, so if something goes bad, you can easily switch back.

Ok thanks I was worried but if it worked for you with 256kb bioses than should work for me too.. I also noted that the BIOS updates from XFX are 256kb also.

I just tested it now, and atiflash274 is doing 512kb bios, if you really need it.
Not sure, what version did you used.

The very latest version 2.7.6.  I am beginning to wonder if it's the aftermarket cards that only do 256K that have the 8 pin plugs.  The reason being is the BIOS update from XFX is 256kb also.

XFX cards use 256k bios not 512k at least this is what I get on all my XFX RX series. The bios can be modded just as regular 512k and it works fine so no need to worry here.
