Hello guys, I've downloaded BitCoin Core Wallet and I've waited more than a week to finish sync. Now I have a up to date installation locally.

Unfortunately my SSD displays signs being dead very soon. I've made an image backup of my SSD. BitCoin Storage was added to a second hard drive. Now I plan to backup second drive to an external usb storage and use it as system disk.

At this time I don't have any BTC and I'd like to backup the installed storage (and program files if required) to USB Drive and restore them back to same Windows install on a seperate drive.

What would be the best practice in my case?

Thank you.

The only thing that you have to backup / transfer is your datadir. Once you install Core on a system it will automatically prompt you and ask for to either create a new datadir or select an already existing one. Just copy the whole folder into any location of your choosing. This should provide the required information: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory

Let me know if you require additional assistance.

Even simpler, you only really need to copy the wallet.dat file in order to fully restore bitcoin core.

It looks like you didn't read their post or you've misread it.

It is pointless to backup a unused wallet.dat file.
