Unless that aspiring alt coin will surpass the market cap of bitcoin and will get a lot of potential investors that are willing to invest into it and trust it.

- How long??? I think it will be a long time

No one really knows on when this is going to happen but to make you confident, it's better if we are not going to think about this because this is somehow impossible as of the moment.

- I believe that nothing is forever, sooner or later  Bitcoin will disappear

If that is so then fiat will also be replaced first with BTC  Grin

Bitcoin is revolution but i believe now it is not so perfect.
 Roll Eyes
POW is good but future is POS or maybe something completely new.
Blockchain is too large and will continue to grow over time.
Most miners are concentrated in China, wich is not good if we want Bitcoin to be money of the whole world.

So this, and many others problems  will be overcomed by new coins and projects, maybe not now and in few years,
but in future will be, for sure.

Yes, the blocksize debate was telling me something

POW is good but future is POS or maybe something completely new.
PoS is the future. it will be to be true soon.

Blockchain is too large and will continue to grow over time.
Hyperledger is an evidence.

Most miners are concentrated in China, wich is not good if we want Bitcoin to be money of the whole world.
Looks like a lot of manipulations.

So this, and many others problems  will be overcomed by new coins and projects, maybe not now and in few years,

Honestly, there are some already offer a fixing feature of bitcoin. LTC are similarly with bitcoin, but bitcoin has stronger caused by his history.

Nothing lasts forever, so does the BTC. There are more potential altcoins which can overcome BTC. But I think ETH has the most potential.

On what basis would you call overcome ?
Is it in Market adoption, Market cap, Trading volume ?

Bitcoin is the original and its more stable than any other altcoins currently in circulation. It counts a 85% dominance and all altcoins are just 15% in the crypto space.

I would guess that having an altcoin which overcome BTC in terms of adoption, trading and price is feasibly impossible right now. It might happen in the future when the adoption of crypto currency and decentralize systems/apps in general becomes much bigger.

As a payment currency, I can see Monero competing with BTC (in future)
