If we have seen the top, then we can expect prices to go lower and trending sideways for some months. However, it could also be that the final top never happened, maybe due to mtgox spoiling the fun, which might relaunch the price into the stratosphere soon. What do you think will happen?

We may not get back to 266 immediately but this 100 is under-priced right now IMO.

I predict a swift upward "correction" this week, a little volatility after the correction, and a steady incline to new highs in a month or two.

You probably should define opinion about top or bottom you need to ask. Also, timeframe is important

I think it depends less on Gox and more on the people that were in it for short term profit, whether they cashed out or got left holding the bag, and whether they gave up or are going to stick it out.

It was a bit disheartening last night to watch the price fall from US$115 to $85 then climb back up and not break USD$110 again even though it was barely a $USD1M wall. Those things used to get smashed in a matter of hours.

The likes of Bitcoin has never been seen before, I think if we're talking purely about price no one can predict what's going to happen in the long run.

We definitely have the same mindset.

I hope you are right Smiley

I voted for more correction ahead. I don't think I have ever seen a bubble going into such serious correction for days, only to relaunch the weeks after. So I think chances are very low for that to happen.

However, I do think the crash had a lot to do with mtgox crashing. All these new people and monies, I had expected the spike to go considerably higher. So your option is something in the middle. Do you think the crash was due to mtgox? Or not at all?

and what is this prediction based upon? my analysis calls $100 quite overpriced for at least weeks.

The poll results seem to be pretty balanced. Maybe that explains the price, which is still at $100, a lot higher than the start of the year ($12), but considerably lower than the high at $266.

I think we'll all be a lot wiser as Monday dawns across the world. This time last week though the rocket had already started to fire upwards though. I won't read too much into that however.

I have to say I am surprised just how many bulls out there are still convinced we'll be on our way back to the moon shortly.

For me the ideal scenario for Bitcoin is a slow gentle decline in price which gives all those Bitcoin startups a chance to grab center stage and start making headlines for the right reasons. Unfortunately I suspect things are going to be far more chaotic.

The last two weekends were anomaly rallies. Usually the weekends are a fairly predictable dip.

I thought last weekend we'd held relatively steady until the end of last weekend and then things began to shoot up early.

But I agree, it wasn't normal. Tomorrow is going to be interesting for sure though.
