Hi, sorry ahead of time for the dumb questions.  Here's where I am at.

Rig built, signed up for Pool (coinotron) made worker.
CGeasy - to create config (no OC)
CGminer running-  (showing 470kh/s appx)

So, I show connected to coinotron and to my worker.  I show a hash rate and several "detected new blocks"
Also there is one "best share" where it shows in notes "accepted XXXXXXXX Diff XXX/XXX GPU 0

Next, I log into coinotron website to see what it's showing there for the worker.  Now is my question.  Coinotron shows my worker at 0kh/s and no mining ever done?  How can I be connected to coinotron and my worker and have a best share with 0kh/s on the website?

Am I in fact mining correctly or do I still need something else?  Any help would be great, as I'm sure I'll have more; but trying to get what I can.

Thanks, Prot

EDIT: the website now shows me at 14kh/s Huh?  This seems more of a mystery now lol.  I DO note my connection has shown "interrupted" a couple times.

What coin are you mining? Seems REALLY low if it's bitcoin  Grin

OMW sorry, LTC.   Also, if it helps I'm running no flags atm.  Just trying my first run to see how it goes.  (GPU 7950)  Only lowered Vcc a bit so far.

If there's other info I can / need to provide please let me know.

EDIT:  okay running it more I see a pattern some.

discovered new block
connection interrupted
reset connection
connection interrupted
reset connection
discovered new block
Etc.
sometimes I will get 3 blocks before a reset.

I notice also it says connected with Stratum at the top, not sure if that's the way I want to connect or not.  (EDIT NVM stratum I see coinotron is only stratum atm.)

Other items that may help
Windows 7 64bit
MSI 990FXA-GD80
Powercooler 7950

Other notes.  I see in afterburner that when it seems to be working I get spikes 60-100% activity on gpu.  When I see interrupt the activity goes to 0 for a second.  I notice also that the RAM usage on the card is 230mb?  Should the miner be using ram here, as I thought LTC used memory more.

If anyone has thoughts I'd appreciate it very much.  I want to get the "feel" and make sure it's working before I tweak for performance and such.

Ok think I've gotten a bit farther.  I would really love if someone could help, or point me to an area for help.  It would be the first time anyone has helped so far.

One error, I did NOT have SDK.  I read over the notes and FAQ for cgminer and the consolidated litecoin guide.  So I have 13.1 Driver and SDK 2.6
I also set the recommended thread concurrency from the consolidated guide @ 21712

Upon starting this time I note NOW I'm getting all accepted and no rejects!!! YAY. However I'm showing only 240Kh/s average now.  I will remove the thread concurrency flag to see if just the SDK dropped this.  I didn't expect it to be half the speed lol.

other CGminer notes that may help:
Output Line;  240Kh/5s and 240Kh/s right now A:25 R:1 HW:0 U:2.4
read something somewhere about UW: but forget (think supposed to be .9/Kh/s) but UW: 306/m

So now I appear to be mining correctly, but Speed is in the toilet 240Kh/s  (not checked the site's report of my speed yet)

NOTE:  I DO have RAM usage now as well.  I was NOT using GPU ram on first tests.  Now it shows 1394mb.  I have more ram on the card, how do I increase this?

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: removing the thread concurrency flag changed very little.  the U: down .6 and the UW: down 50  (so 1.9 and 250/m)  otherwise same kh/s.  So, SDK cut the kh/s in half

Further update I guess.

I played around with clock settings and concurrency and seemed to only change the Kh/s 50 or so no matter what I did.  (so, 240-280 Kh/s)

I know this is about half what these cards are supposed to get. So not sure what I have wrong at this point.  Why do I only get 250kh/s on a 7950 card.

Also, I tried Reaper, as some suggested that was better.  However I cannot figure out how to get connected to coinotron; since their getway is closed.
When I run reaper I get "error with server: stratum" .  I know CG miner automatically connected as stratum and on the old port 8322.

Any clues on how I can get reaper to connect then as well?

Someone?  Anyone? pleeeeaaasse?

EDIT: in trying to find out how I can get Reaper to use stratum I was lead to GUIminer scrypt alpha;  but alas, that's not available for download in this country.

Help is needed with 2 main things
1. How can I get reaper connected to stratum with coinotron (error with server: stratum)
2. IF CGminer is the only program I can use, as it seems; how can I improve hash rates over 250kh/s

I don't know if Reaper even supports Stratum.

Ye Benny1985; the only way I found was to use GUIMininer Scrypt Alpha (or well that was suggested on a thread I read) but I have not found a site with that available.

Guess an update as well.  I stayed up very late, as I couldn't let myself sleep without figuring Something out.  Anyway;  I have added the 2nd of 3 GPU's that will be in this, when done.   So, I have 2x7950.  After a lot of work, reading, adjustment;
-I've gotten up to 470 Kh per card, showing an average of 970 Kh/s for the pair.
-Cards were OC'ed to 1085 Core and 1600 Mem; with Vcc 1.143.
-Running for the time I slept as a burn in @ I:17;  I have a reject percentage of 4.2% (bout right from what I've read)
-Pool website is showing incoming accepted hash from me at 900kh/s, so close to what the terminal CG shows.

So, I guess I figured it out on my own here; wanted to update at least.

EDIT:  My final post on this as I'm pretty satisfied now.  I do not want to bump thread again, so I'll edit.

Final settings:
-505-510 Kh/s per card on CGminer showing average of 1.05 - 1.1 Mh/s
-Pool Website shows worker doing 1.118 Mh/s (so 559 Kh/s each)
-Card OC is:  1065 Mhz Core / 1250 Mem / 1.093v / 69C
-Intensity = 20 - 24hr stable Appx. 4% rejection

Can't expect anymore outta these!  I'm very happy
