No idea, the site was demo'ed at today's ripple meetup, that's how I found out about it going live, presumably it's gonna make it "easy" to buy / sell XRPs (as opposed to doing it the hard way by creating a gateway account and withdrawing IOUs into Ripple to trade inside ripple directly).

Xrptrader to me appears to be at best a Mickey Mouse job and at worst a scam.

Stay away until proven otherwise

On their site, they ask you to register and agree to their terms of service, even though there's not a link anywhere to their terms of service!

That seems sketchy.

This looks interesting but will wait to see if it gets more positive comments.

For people in this forum that site is probably a waste of time, just trade inside ripple.com/client itself or do private transactions with bitstmap.net

xrptrader is for the ignorant masses who'll flock to Ripple eventually, think of it as a tax on people who can't figure out how to run regular ripple.com client and how to grant trust to a gateway.

That site looks horrible. Here is what it says:

To buy XRP, please send bitcoins to the following address:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
You Send At Least   You Get
0.6 BTC   3000 XRP
1.65 BTC   10000 XRP
4.95 BTC   30000 XRP

I am paying 1 BTC for 39000 XRP:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=176060.0

so this guy is basically paying like 600% less than me.  Something like that.  His rates are just a joke.

Yes, it's a joke, but hopefully the joke won't be on anybody with half a brain, the sheeple will of course go to the slaughter as usual :-)
