Transactions not appearing in wallet?

I have a coinbase account and whenever I do those free bitcoin things they show up there no problem. However, I want to use a paper wallet and have the Bitcoin wallet program, and it is fully synced. However it never shows that I have the transactions from those free coin sites. I know they give next to nothing, its more just to show that it is functioning properly. I am copying and pasting the address from the "Receive coins" tab.

What do I need to do?

Either they are not paying out or you haven't been paid yet
coinbase works flawlessly for me

Ya I have no problem with coinbase, the transactions go through fine. But I just am a little unsure due to transaction times etc and would rather have the coins in my hand so to speak... so because I have coinbase working fine I know I have some clue what I'm doing.

you can send yourself a test amount from coinbase, no?

I dont have enough in coinbase to do that... I'm waiting on a .2btc to go through (pending). But I have done those free btc ones that worked with coinbase and it only took a matter of hours, now when I do them with my personal wallet it doesn't work. Maybe I'll just stick with coinbase.
