The transfer appears in my qt wallet after 0 confirmations (though it says 0 confirmations) and lets me send the coins after 1 confirmation

I already have 5 confirmations and nothing is appering into my wallet. Huh I have generated a new wallet, a one that was not exposed, and send the bitcoins there. It could be that I have done something wrong doing that? What I have done is first I copied the walled.dat compromised to another foder, and start another time the bitcoin-qt, then copied the adresses, close bitcoin-qt, open another time the compromised walled, and send to the adress i have copied. Then close the bitcoin-qt, open another time the non compromised walled..and nothing is appearing!!

Please help!  Embarrassed

Unfortunately I don't know enough about the technical side of bitcoin files to be able to answer that for you... I hope someone else can help.

transactions appear as soon as the client receives it (no confirmation needed), unless:
  • the client isn't fully synced with the blockchain (check status icon at the bottom)
  • the client is fully synced with the blockchain, but was not online at the time the transaction was broadcast
otherwise, they take 1 confirmation to appear on the transaction list (assuming you have all the blocks).

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

So if it says "out of sync" is normal that no transaction is appearing at the bitcoin-qt wallet? Huh

Yes if it says out of sync, it should say that its syncing and where it is at in the blockchain. Dependable on CPU power and network speed, getting the full blockchain could from just over a day (25 hours) to only a couple of hours. (my pc downloaded full chain and synced in under 4 hours with bitcoin-qt wallet)

The moment it has caught up you should see the txn in there.

"Only 6 blocks or 1 hour is enough to make reversal computationally impractical."
"The Bitcoin reference software does not display transactions as confirmed until six blocks have passed (confirmations)."
