Hey

I was shuffling through the forum looking through the business projects that have been brought up and noticed all of them were rather small projects.

So I came up with the question
What business model would you stick to if you had millions rather than thousands and how much do you think it would cost?

I would be down to create a worldwide-shipping online electroincs store that accepts bitcoin . Around 2 million dollars would be enough to get the project going in my opinion.

Share your ideas!

Interesting question, i would rather go for a complete set of projects, call it an ecosystem, creating a new coin with new specifications, maybe a new algo, with a decentralised exchange dedicated to it, some stores for popular projects, plus a bunch of seed nodes all around the world.
I would also create some services, like gambling, or things like that to make it popular.
I thing that all of this would cost much less then your project, and could be more interesting. Now if you insist on the millions, then you can just upscale it, you can create basements and agencies all around the world who will promote your coin and be used as drop off points for sales and other services.

Please don't listen to trolls here and forget about any new coin Sad other than bitcoin and a few alts all other tokens are just for their devs to keep earning money over time.
Yes your idea is great only if you could compete with the large and well established companies such as Alipay/AliExpress, Amazon, Ebay and 10 more big companies, or you could partner up with one of them.
If you could send to every country and accept bitcoin then you need to spend a few thousands on advertising widely, I'd be the first one top buy something.

I am not a troll, it is a serious project and many serious and legit coins try to achieve such goals, please, don't be so rude with people you know nothing about.

Gambling, exchanges, dark markets. Those are really the only cast iron crypto success stories. I wouldn't go anywhere near retail myself. Most people don't want to part with their BTC and with the stuff that most people would buy, such as electronic, there's no way you can achieve enough of a discount to entice new users.

With 2 million dollars it's good to run gambling project. Gambling industry have a big role to attract bitcoin demands. To make it success hire an expert developer who have brilliant ideas to make a unique features, half of the funds or little bit more is good enough to set aside, the rest use for marketing (promotion & advertising), because the important thing is marketing sector.

The problem with this is the following, we have seen a lot of payment processors accepting Bitcoin as a payment option and these payment processors already have a network of merchants and services that accepts Bitcoin through them. So by the time you developed your worldwide-shipping online electronics store, others would have simply partnered with a payment processor and accepts Bitcoin via them.

How will your site still be unique, if everyone else accepts Bitcoin via these payment processors?

With 2 million dollars i think exchanger is a good idea, however i doubt that it would be a good idea build a marketplace especially with bitcoin as form of payment, as we can see there are some marketplace that accepts bitcoin, you can make a research about profit of those companies if if their profit is good then you can go, cause i know that most bitcoiners prefer to hold their coin rather than spend them except if they can't find what they're looking for in popular store like amazon and ebay. Well you must alocate big amount for promotion purpose since there are too many bigger competitor out there.

...

I still feel (and have for years) that someone is going to make a LOT of money by setting up an easy & hassle-free way to buy BTC without all the fuss & bother of verification (KYC/AML).   This would bring a LOT of money into that exchange.  Yes, it would be hard for that outfit to find a home country, get trust and be able to get into the banking system..., sure I understand all that.

But, programmers in some cases are among the brightest people on our planet.  Someone is going to figure this out (ah, not me, I am not a programmer) and make a mint.  A gold mine to the one who finds the Key here...

I am a certified digital marketer, and have been working with web platform since from last 15 years. Within this time frame learn lot about advertising & marketing. And my honest suggestion is make capital ready fro project out of total capital, 30% to 40% have to spend on production. And remaining 70% to 60% spend on advertising in various media. Many of giant companies even spend more on advertising.

Once start to receive traffic, track your traffic and spend more on most suitable source of advertising.

$1 Million is already enough for you to have a variety of choices and that I've been looking for that store that ships world wide with their products.

I guess the other $1 Million can be used for another investment such as building up your own gambling site.

Don't focus only with 1 type of business with that big amount of capital.

Why start another gambling site? That wouldn't add anything new to the BTC community or expand it's user base...not fun or cool.

If I had millions to invest I would start a VC fund and be an early investor in BTC projects. With $2 mill to invest / $50,000 seed money per company = investing in 40 start ups in the BTC space.  It is a numbers game, the more ideas that get funding and see the light of day, the greater chance one sticks and solves a problem that changes the world.

Nope. It'll never, ever be allowed to happen. The movement of money is getting ever more oppressive and it's only going to go in one direction.

There's a lot to be made with less clunky decentralised stuff but they're already out there and developing slowly.

Programmers are a bright bunch.  For enough money (I postulate HUGE amounts) someone may come up with a way.

Hear you re controlling flows of money.  That's why I think someone will find a way...

Logistic is a great industry to be, third place behind Oil & gas and Real estate, but the issue is political issues, how are you going to get the political will to muscle yourself into the market couple with it is trusted partners

Programmers can't program their way out of circumventing laws. Fiat will always be bogged down with the same old stuff. Any company would love to be able to cut the chaff but they can't. Like I said, something decentralised that actually works well would be a huge hit but those laws would then be applied to the individuals using it.

You are right the plan of OP on his mind is not really on demand such project and that fund will eventually comes to waste since not all people would really be interested on that matter on a longer period of times and as you proposed i would stick on gambling, exchanges and other stuffs that relates to crypto.
