What the closing down of the Community Forum of IMDB means

I just posted this on Nitrateville,the biggest vintage film forum about the closing down of IMDB community forum that was huge, well-loved and old.  Corporations have done this to several other well loved community get togethers, like MP3.com and essentially MySpace.

So, I just told people who would be totally clueless about what the alternatives will soon be.

Napster wasn't distributed, they had centralized servers and that was the reason they had to buckle to the music industry. Depending on the audience who under 25ish even knows about Napster?

Still I agree with you about IMDB, shame they closed their forums. It was handy to see some other fan theories on certain movies.
